The 4,947-passenger, 132,500-ton Costa Diadema, which will be the largest Italian-flagged cruise ship, is scheduled for delivery in October 2014
For more than 65 years Costa Cruises’ ships have showcased Italian-made excellence throughout the world with their quality of service, variety of entertainment, range of fine food and wine, and exclusive onboard art collections.

From fall 2013 through spring 2014, four of Holland America Line’s premium ships will sail to South America on a series of cruises that will explore more than 40 ports of call that span from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., around Cape Horn up to Vancouver, British Columbia. With vibrant cultures, breathtaking scenic cruising and once-in-a-lifetime adventures, guests can choose from a variety of itineraries on ms Zaandam, ms Maasdam, ms Statendam and ms Prinsendam.
The voyages range from 13 to 49 days and include Zaandam’s full season of cruising and a popular 49-day port-intensive “Amazon & Carnaval Explorer” voyage aboard Maasdam in early 2014. A 26-day “Amazon Explorer” cruise in November 2013 on Prinsendam is another highlight of the line’s 2013-14 South America schedule.
“South America is very popular with our guests because it’s exotic, mysterious and adventurous with a wide diversity of cultures and scenery,” said Richard Meadows, Holland America Line’s executive vice president of sales, marketing and guest programs. “Guests can experience incredible ‘must-do’ moments with us, from seeing penguins in Antarctica and visiting the ruins of Machu Picchu to exploring the Amazon River and witnessing Carnaval from a seat in the Sambadrome.”
To start the South America cruising season, Zaandam departs Fort Lauderdale Oct. 18, 2013, on a 17-day “Inca Discovery” voyage to Valparaiso (Santiago), Chile. The itinerary includes a full transit of the Panama Canal in addition to an extended port call at Manta, Ecuador, and an overnight at Callao (Lima), Peru.
From November 2013 to April 2014, Zaandam will sail a series of six 13-day itineraries between Valparaiso and Buenos Aires, Argentina, and one 18-day cruise departing Nov. 30, 2013, from Valparaiso to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The sailings include multiple days cruising the scenic fjords and national parks of Chile, calls at exotic locations such as Ushuaia (the southernmost town in the world), sailing around Cape Horn and a visit to the Magellan Strait — gateway to Antarctica. A call at Puerto Madryn, Argentina, affords guests an opportunity to encounter Magellan penguins, sea elephants, sea lions and seals up close in their natural habitat.
Guests looking to spend the holidays exploring Antarctica can take Zaandam’s 21-Day South America and Antarctica Holiday cruise that sails from Rio de Janeiro to Valparaiso. This special sailing features overnight calls at Rio and Buenos Aires, and three days of scenic cruising through the Antarctic Sound to the Palmer Archipelago on the northwestern coast of the Antarctic Peninsula. Guests also will enjoy rounding Cape Horn and scenic cruising through Drake Passage, Glacier Alley, the Beagle Channel, Strait of Magellan, Canal Sarmiento and the Chilean fjords. Additional calls include Montevideo, Uruguay; Puerto Madryn, Ushuaia, and Puerto Montt, Chile.
Two 21-day “South America & Antarctica Explorer” sailings on Zaandam between Valparaiso and Buenos Aires depart Jan. 8 and 29. Those extended voyages also sail farther south past Ushuaia for scenic cruising through the Antarctic Sound to the Palmer Archipelago, with calls in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay along the way.
Zaandam then sets out March 30 on a new 33-day “South America Passage Inca Discovery” repositioning voyage that takes the ship from Buenos Aires to Vancouver. Guests looking to disembark in the United States can take the 29-day segment that ends at San Diego, Calif. The month-long journey takes guests to 11 countries and an extreme variety of climates, from the scenic blue ice of Glacier Alley to the tropical landscapes of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. A 16-day segment from Valparaiso to San Diego also is available.
Statendam Sails Two Inca Empire Collectors’ Voyages
In November 2013 and March 2014, Statendam sails two cruise itineraries that can be combined to form a longer Inca Empires Collectors’ Voyage. A 16-day itinerary departs San Diego Nov. 3, 2013, and a 15-day option departs March 16, 2014, and heads south to Callao (Lima). Guests on this segment will enjoy two overnight calls at Huatulco, Mexico, and Callao, as well as calls at Cabo San Lucas; Puerto Chiapas, Mexico; Fuerte Amador, Panama; and Salaverry (Trujillo), Peru. The Nov. 3 cruise adds an overnight at Fuerte Amador, Panama.
The 15-day Inca Empires segment departs Callao Nov. 19 and March 31 after an overnight call and sails back to San Diego. Statendam calls at ports in seven countries on this itinerary, with stops at Manta, Ecuador; Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica; Corinto, Nicaragua; Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala, and Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
The two voyages can be combined to form a 30- or 31-day Collectors’ Voyage that sails round-trip San Diego.
Explore the Amazon, Experience Carnaval on Maasdam
Aboard Maasdam, guests will sail a 49-day “Amazon & Carnaval Explorer” conveniently sailing roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale Feb. 7, 2014.
The cruise will call at 25 ports, including all three of the “ABC Islands” — Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao — Barbados, 11 ports in Brazil, the Cayman Islands, Dominica, French Guiana, St. Maarten, Trinidad and Tobago. The ship will cross the equator three times during the voyage and venture deep into the heart of the Amazon River. Another highlight of the itinerary is Carnaval, a festive celebration often referred to as the world's largest party that coincides with an extended call at Rio from March 2-4. Extended calls at three ports — Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curaçao, and Salvador de Bahia, Brazil — as well as overnights at Rio and Manaus, Brazil, allow extra time ashore to enjoy historical and cultural attractions.
Shorter segments of Maasdam’s “Amazon & Carnaval Explorer” are available for guests with less time. The 23-day segment departs Fort Lauderdale for Rio de Janeiro Feb. 7, and the 26-day segment departs Rio de Janeiro for Fort Lauderdale March 2, and includes the Amazon River cruising and two-night call at Rio de Janeiro during Carnaval.
Prinsendam’s 26-day Amazon Explorer
Departing Nov. 26, 2013, Prinsendam sails south once again on a 26-day Amazon Explorer voyage roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale. During the cruise the ship will sail throughout the Caribbean and spend nine full days on the Amazon River, with an overnight call at Manaus.
Shore Excursions, Overland Tours in South America
Holland America Line guests can experience some of the most iconic and world-famous South American attractions and destinations by taking an award-winning shore excursion or in-depth overland tour, many of which visit UNESCO World Heritage sites.
A selection of featured tours includes:
Iguazu Falls: Natural Wonder of the World — This unforgettable tour enables guests to see the awe-inspiring Iguazu Falls, located at the border of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. Guests will ride a train to Devil's Throat (a cliff at Iguazu Falls) and take a guided walk to view the falls. The spectacular display is made up of 250 giant cascades twice the height of Niagara Falls.
Cuzco & Machu Picchu Overland Adventure — This fascinating excursion includes a sightseeing drive through colonial Cuzco to see the main square and cathedral, followed by a Vistadome train ride along the Urubamba River and a coach ride to Machu Picchu — the Lost City of the Incas — at an elevation of 7,874 feet.
Patagonian Experience: Otway Sound & Penguin Reserve — During this adventure, guests will take a motor coach ride across mostly unpaved roads and farms bordering Otway Bay for magnificent views of the Pinto Range. The tour also enables guests to see thousands of Magellan penguins near their caves and nesting areas.
Drive to Tierra del Fuego National Park — Tierra del Fuego encompasses the city of Ushuaia, Cape Horn, the Magellan Strait and is a gateway to Antarctica. This national park was created to protect the southern portion of the sub-Antarctic forest. Today it provides visitors an opportunity to enjoy the Andes and the region’s forests, rivers and lakes, and is home to a wide variety of birds. A short stop at Lapataia Bay, the southernmost place that can be reached by road, also is included on this tour.
Experiencing More of South America through “On Location”
Through the line’s “On Location” enrichment program, local traditions, culinary tastes and cultural experiences come to life both onboard and ashore to deepen guests’ appreciation of the destinations they are exploring. In South America, this might mean learning to cook Gaucho Steak with Chimichurri Sauce in the Culinary Arts Center, Tango lessons from a professional South American dance expert, a Gaucho-themed barbecue on deck with traditional South American food and Spanish lessons.
Cruise fares begin at $2,499 per person, double occupancy, for the 31-day cruise, $999 for the 16-day segment and $1,599 for the 15-day segment.
Cruise fares for South America departures range from $999 per person, double occupancy, for a 16 -day Inca Empires sailing to $5,999 per person for the 49-day “Amazon & Carnaval Explorer.”

Carnival Cruise Lines has two ships homeported in New Orleans whose operations have been impacted by Tropical Storm Karen. Given the closure of the Mississippi River, the arrivals of both Carnival Elation and Carnival Conquest to New Orleans were delayed. Both vessels maintained a safe distance from the storm while awaiting the re-opening of the river. Both are now expected to dock at the Port of New Orleans this afternoon.
Carnival Elation
Carnival Elation operates four and five-day cruises from New Orleans and departed on its current voyage, a five-day cruise, on Monday, Sept. 30 that included stops in Progreso and Cozumel, Mexico. The ship was originally scheduled to return to New Orleans on Saturday, Oct. 5. Carnival Elation is now expected to dock in New Orleans at approximately 2pm this afternoon. Guests have the option of disembarking today or remaining on board until tomorrow morning.
The Elation’s next voyage will depart on Monday, Oct 7 and has been modified from a five-day cruise to a three-day Fun Cruise at Sea. Guests who opt to proceed with the cruise will receive a 50 percent refund for this voyage and a 50 percent discount towards a future three to five-day cruise. Tomorrow’s embarkation for the next voyage is scheduled from 11 am to 3pm.
Carnival Conquest
Carnival Conquest operates seven-day Caribbean and Florida/Bahamas cruises from New Orleans. The ship departed New Orleans on its current voyage on Sunday, Sept. 29 that included stops in Montego Bay, Jamaica; Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Carnival Conquest was originally scheduled to return to New Orleans this morning. The ship is now scheduled to arrive at approximately 1.30p this afternoon. Guests have the option of disembarking today or remaining on board until tomorrow morning.
The Conquest’s next voyage will be modified from a seven-day cruise to a six-day cruise with stops in Key West and Nassau, The Bahamas – two of the three originally scheduled ports. Guests who opt to proceed with this cruise will receive a one-day pro-rated refund. Embarkation for tomorrow’s cruise departure is scheduled from 10 am to 2 pm.
A number of additional staff have been mobilized to join the current team in New Orleans to provide guests with assistance and support.
“Our top priority was to keep a safe distance from the storm while we waited for the river to re-open. We are pleased to be able to get our ships back into New Orleans earlier than what was originally anticipated as the storm was moving towards the coastline. We apologize to our guests for the inconvenience caused by Tropical Storm Karen and we extend our appreciation to all of the officials and maritime partners in New Orleans who have worked with us throughout to manage the situation as smoothly as possible,” said Gerry Cahill, president and CEO of Carnival Cruise Lines.

Travel Weekly magazine announced the recipients of its 2013 Magellan Awards, and Holland America Line has received eight of the prestigious honors. The line won four gold awards in the categories of Eco-Friendly “Green” Cruise Ship — The Holland America Fleet, Premium Ship for ms Eurodam, Direct Mail Cruise Marketing for the Holland America Line Cruise Catalog and Web Marketing/Advertising for Social Media Sweepstakes. Four silver awards were earned for Suite Design — Pinnacle Suite, Entertainment and the “Dancing with the Stars: At Sea” program, Restaurant Design for Taste of De Librije and Advertising/Marketing Campaign (up to five pieces) for Holland America Line Exquisite Discovery.
The Magellan Awards honor a broad range of industry segments, including hotels and resorts, travel destinations, cruise lines, online travel services, airlines and airports, travel agents/agencies, tour operators and car rental companies. Entries are evaluated by a panel of respected travel industry professionals against standards of excellence — rather than against each other — established by Travel Weekly, which has been published since 1958.
“Holland America Line strives to be a leader in everything that we do, from introducing innovative onboard experiences to our guests to being responsible corporate citizens,” said Richard Meadows, Holland America Line’s executive vice president of marketing, sales and guest programs. “It is an honor to be recognized by an esteemed publication like Travel Weekly for excellence in such a broad range of categories.”
Holland America Line’s gold-winning Premium Ship ms Eurodam launched in July 2008 with exclusive venues, amenities and entertainment options. The newest addition is the B.B. King’s Blues Club at sea that replicates the soulful club’s namesake on land. Another exclusive experience only found on Signature-Class ships is Tamarind, a pan-Asian alternative dining venue. The ship also features the line’s signature Pinnacle Grill alternative restaurant, private cabanas available for rental, Digital Workshop powered by Windows, the Culinary Arts Center presented by Food & Wine magazine and more.
Taking home a gold award for Eco-Friendly “Green” Cruise Ship —The Holland America Fleet is a testament to the line’s commitment to environmental excellence. The company works diligently to conserve fuel and water, employs the latest technologies for wastewater and oily bilge water treatment, and uses innovative strategies to reduce and manage its solid waste stream. The cruise line also is an industry leader in exploring new environmental initiatives such as a whale conservation and protection program, and using shore power in a growing number of ports.
Holland America Line’s marketing and advertising efforts took home two gold awards. The gold award for Direct Mail Cruise Marketing was earned for the line’s creation of personalized content inserted into the Holland America Line Cruise Catalog based on guests’ current loyalty level and past onboard spending behavior. The gold for Web Marketing/Advertising for Social Media Sweepstakes was earned by the “Dream Sweeps” Facebook contest that asked entrants to submit their dream destination for a chance to win a seven-day cruise and the Pinterest “Pin 2 Win - Caribbean” sweepstakes that asked fans to pin their favorite Caribbean cruise highlight.
The silver award-winning Taste of De Librije is an alternative dining option featuring the cuisine of Culinary Council member and Michelin Star Chef Jonnie Boer. Named after Boer’s restaurant in the Netherlands, the menu showcases a selection of starters, soups, entrees and desserts from his land-based eatery. Currently the experience is offered on ms Rotterdam and ms Eurodam.
Dancing its way to a silver award, Holland America Line’s “Dancing with the Stars: At Sea” program is a collaboration with the hit ABC television show that includes theme cruises on select sailings featuring celebrities and professional dancers from the show, as well as guest dance lessons and a dance-off competition on every cruise across the fleet.
The Pinnacle Suites earned a silver award in Suite Design for their contemporary style with bright colors, elegant furnishings, original artwork and sense of whimsy. At more than 1,300 square feet, each zig-zag teak-lined balcony has its own hot tub and an inset banquette for alfresco lounging or dining. The suite also has a butler's pantry with fridge and microwave, and a dining table for eight. The enormous marble-clad bathroom features a full-sized whirlpool tub and separate shower stall.
A silver award was earned in the line’s Advertising/Marketing Campaign (up to five pieces) for Holland America Line Exquisite Discovery. The 2013 advertising campaign is based on cruisers valuing the opportunity to experience thrilling new discoveries while also delighting in pampering hospitality. When joined together, these seemingly contrasting offerings form a complementary experience and a compelling benefit. The campaign uses word and image pairings to tell the brand story, such as the headlines “Adventurous meet Exquisite” and “Tempting meet Unforgettable.”
Since 2008, Travel Weekly has been recognizing excellence in travel with the annual Magellan Awards, and Holland America Line has received more than 30 awards in various categories since the Magellan Awards’ inception.

Travel Weekly is recognized as one of the most important and influential sources of news, data, and commentary for the travel industry. This is the fourth year in a row Paul Gauguin Cruises has received a Magellan Award in the Small Cruise Ship category.
The Magellan Awards are judged and overseen by a one-of-a-kind panel of top travel professionals representing the best names and most accomplished leaders from the industry. In determining winners, entries do not compete with one another, instead they are judged against a standard of excellence based on the long experience of Travel Weekly. Costa Cruises is introducing “slow cruising” on Costa neoRiviera and Costa neoRomantica, a new style of cruising with longer, leisurely itineraries and extended time in port. In addition to a more intimate and exclusive onboard atmosphere on its two smaller ships, Costa’s neoCollection focuses on local foods and wines, and custom-developed small-group immersive shore excursions.
Many neoCollection itineraries are exclusive to the line’s smaller “neo” ships that can sail to destinations inaccessible to larger vessels. Itineraries are designed with longer stopovers at each port — often overnight and part of the next day — to allow maximum time on shore.
As part of the immersive neoCollection experience, shore excursions for groups of 25 or fewer guests have been designed to highlight cultural and natural attractions in each destination. New menus developed in collaboration with Università delle Scienze Gastronomiche in Pollenza, Italy, feature authentic cuisine that incorporates local food and wines.
The relatively small size of Costa neoRiviera (624 cabins) and Costa neoRomantica (789 cabins) makes them ideal for slow cruising because they can visit smaller ports, the shipboard ambience is warm and inviting, and the service is more refined and personalized.
From the time of booking to the actual “slow cruise” experience, quality and service are hallmarks of Costa neoCollection. Guests can consult a team of experts and personalize their cruise by booking shoreside tours that match their tastes and interests. Once onboard, a concierge assists guests in choosing from an array of shipboard and shoreside amenities, such as the newly introduced romantic candlelit gourmet “Dinner Under the Stars.”
The neoCollection itineraries
The Costa neoCollection kicks off with an extraordinary 62-day voyage sailing from Dubai Feb. 9, 2014. The “Grand Africa Tour” will visit the coastline of India, the islands of the Indian Ocean — the Seychelles, Maldives, Mauritius and Reunion — then on to Madagascar, circumnavigating the African continent on a route taking in Mozambique, South Africa, Namibia, St. Helena, Senegal, Cape Verde, the Canary Islands and Morocco, ending at Savona, Italy.
The voyage can be booked as a complete trip from Dubai to Savona or, for those with less time, divided into segments from Dubai to Cape Town, South Africa, or Cape Town to Savona.
In spring/summer 2014 the Costa neoCollection will transform Mediterranean cruising when Costa neoRiviera sails a 12-day “Mediterranean Heart” slow-cruise vacation.
The “Mediterranean Heart” itinerary departs Savona April 11 and 22, May 3 and 25, Sept. 12 and Oct. 4. The cruises call at Toulon, France; Salerno and Livorno, Italy, a port ideally located for excursions to Pisa and Florence; Valletta, Malta; Porto Empedocle, Sicily, with unforgettable tours to the temples of the Valle dei Templi, and an overnight call at Barcelona, Spain. The May 3 departure also includes a visit to Genoa, Italy.
The “Mediterranean Spirit” itinerary from June 5 through Sept. 1 offers the epitome of a Mediterranean summer among the historically evocative islands of the region, as well as Italy’s Amalfi Coast. With Savona as homeport, Costa neoRiviera will call at Toulon; Propriano, Corsica; Olbia, Sardinia; Trapani, Sicily; Valletta; Capri and Salerno, Italy, and Portoferraio, Isle of Elba. The range of tours includes seaside trips to inimitable gems like Costa Smeralda, San Vito lo Capo, Positano, Amalfi, Portofino and the island of Favignana.
The Costa neoCollection also features one of the most popular itineraries for scenic cruising — northern Europe. Costa neoRomantica will offer 13- to 15-day summer cruises bound for Baltic cities and the majestic fjords of Norway.
On June 25 and Aug. 2 and 26, Costa neoRomantica sails from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on a 13-day “Northern Capitals” itinerary. After stopping at Bornholm, Denmark, Costa neoRomantica will call at Helsinki, Finland, and St. Petersburg, Russia, where guests will spend two days and one night exploring the historic imperial city. The ship then calls at Tallin, Estonia; Stockholm and Visby, Sweden, and Copenhagen, Denmark.
Guests who want to admire the midnight sun can choose the 13-day “Kingdom of Light” itinerary on Costa neoRomantica departing June 1 and 13, July 21 and Aug. 14. The ship visits destinations where fjords and waterfalls dominate the stunning landscape.
Costa neoRomantica departs Amsterdam bound for Hellesylt and Geiranger, Norway, en route to what many consider to be Norway’s most beautiful fjord. The next port is historic Trondheim, Norway, followed by the North Cape, continental Europe’s northernmost point, where from May through July the Land of the Midnight Sun offers its most romantic natural spectacle.
The cruise continues on to Tromso, Norway, the base for many polar expeditions. At the Lofoten Islands, amid peaks overlooking turquoise water and fishing villages, guests will experience the essence of natural Arctic splendor. The last calls are at Olden and Bergen, Norway, with its wooden houses and little shops.
Finally, Costa neoRomantica offers “Beyond North Cape,” an exclusive cruise departing Amsterdam July 7 on an extended panoramic voyage off the Norwegian coast, beyond the Arctic Circle to the Svalbard Islands.
The ships
Costa neoRiviera (48,200 tons) has comfortable, intimate spaces reminiscent of a large sailing yacht. With 624 staterooms including 94 suites, four panoramic suites and six grand suites – all with private veranda — Costa neoRiviera’s interiors evoke the atmosphere of the Italian and French rivieras. The ship has three restaurants (including a buffet), six bars, two shopping arcades, three swimming pools, including one for children, Jacuzzis, a beauty and wellness center with thalassotherapy, hydrotherapy and massages, a fitness center, show lounge and disco.
With just 789 cabins, Costa neoRomantica (56,000 tons) is modern, stylish and exclusive with a dazzling array of amenities, from the opulent Samsara Spa to four restaurants and a Wine & Cheese bar. Lovers of traditional Italian cuisine will enjoy Costa neoRomantica’s pizzeria equipped with a genuine wood-burning brick oven. Light and airy, the substantial use of glass and wood paneling is one of the distinguishing features of the ship’s interior decor.

Destination-rich experience to feature exclusive evening in medieval Tuscan village; Five unique dining experiences will showcase Celebrity’s culinary excellence
Holland America Line’s ms Noordam will now sail cruises with central and western Mediterranean itineraries in spring and summer 2014. The new itineraries will allow for longer voyages, including the introduction of three new 11-day itineraries with several departures each and numerous Collectors’ Voyages up to 33 days.
From April through October 2014, the ship will sail between Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy, and Barcelona, Spain, or Venice, Italy. The 11-day itineraries feature a combination of calls in Spain, France, Italy, Malta, Monaco, Tunisia, Greece, Croatia, Montenegro and Turkey. Guests who want a longer vacation can combine two or three back-to-back voyages to form a 22- or 33-day Collectors’ Voyage. These extended itineraries offer a more in-depth cruise and allow for extra time ashore to become immersed in the culture and history of the Mediterranean.
“The central and western Mediterranean cruises feature a variety of popular ports in 10 countries so our guests can explore the top highlights of the region,” said Richard Meadows, Holland America Line’s executive vice president of sales, marketing and guest programs. “For travelers with more time, the different itineraries can be combined into an ultimate Mediterranean cruise experience with few, if any, repeated ports.”
Departing April 4, May 18, July 1 and Aug. 14, the “Mediterranean Explorer” voyage sails from Barcelona to Civitavecchia (Rome). The cruise begins with an overnight at Barcelona and continues on to Marseille (Provence), France; Monte Carlo, Monaco; Calvi, Corsica; Livorno (Florence/Pisa), Italy; La Goulette (Tunis), Tunisia, and Palermo and Naples, Italy. The ship sails the reverse itinerary, ending with an overnight at Barcelona, May 7, June 20, Aug. 3 and Oct. 8.
The “Adriatic Dream” itinerary departs April 15, May 29, July 12 and Aug. 25 from Civitavecchia (Rome) and sails to Venice, where guests enjoy an overnight before disembarking. Along the route the ship calls at Messina, Sicily, Italy, after scenic cruising along the Strait of Messina; Valletta, Malta; Argostolion and Kerkira (Corfu), Greece; Kotor, Montenegro, and Dubrovnik, Korcula and Split, Croatia.
The “Mediterranean Dream” cruise departs April 26, June 9, July 23 and Sept. 5 from Venice and sails to Civitavecchia (Rome). This itinerary features six calls throughout the beautiful Greek Isles, including Katakolon (Olympia), Navplion, Piraeus (Athens), Mykonos, Rhodes and Santorini. The ship also calls at Kusadasi, Turkey, home to Ephesus, and Naples, Italy.
The Sept. 16 “Venetian Adventure” voyage sails round-trip Civitavecchia (Rome) with an overnight at Venice mid-voyage. The ship also calls at Messina after scenic cruising along the Strait of Messina, Valletta, Kotor, Split, Dubrovnik and Kerkira (Corfu).
A round-trip Civitavecchia (Rome) “Mediterranean Dream” cruise departs Sept. 27 and calls at Katakolon (Olympia), Navplion, Piraeus (Athens), Mykonos, Kusadasi, Rhodes, Santorini and Naples.
Travelers looking to explore more of the Mediterranean can book a longer Collectors’ Voyage that combines two or three of the 11-day cruises. For example, the 33-day “Best of the Mediterranean” cruise departs April 4 and combines the April 4, 15 and 26 departures. The 22-day “Mediterranean and Adriatic Explorer” combines the May 18, 29 and June 9 sailings. Each month through September will offer a combination that features 22- to 33-day Collectors’ Voyage options.
The new Noordam itineraries replace the previously published cruises that included Egypt, which was cancelled due to continued unrest in the area.
On Location Brings Destinations Alive on Noordam
On each Europe cruise, Holland America Line’s “On Location” enrichment program brings local traditions, culinary tastes and cultural experiences to life both onboard and ashore to deepen guests’ appreciation of the region. Guests might enjoy a Turkish Taraf with live belly dancers, and regional beer and wine tastings, cultural cooking demonstrations, special tapas sail-away parties and more.
