Cruises is featuring a “Kids Sail Free” program where junior cruisers ages 17 and under can take a cruise vacation and only pay government taxes and fees when sailing as the third or fourth guest in a cabin.
Available on most cruises on 11 ships in Costa’s fleet, the Kids Sail Free program is an ideal opportunity for families to take advantage of significant savings and take a once-in-a-lifetime vacation to Europe or the Mediterranean.
“With today’s hectic lifestyle we know that family time isn’t as abundant as it used to be,” said Scott Knutson, Costa Cruises vice president of sales and marketing. “Our ‘Kids Sail Free’ program enables families to plan an exceptional vacation at an exceptional rate, making it affordable to spend quality time together as a family while touring some of Europe’s most popular cities.”
The line features sailings from the fjords of Norway to the sun-kissed coasts of Greece, so whether traveling families are looking to take a vacation to educate, relax or go on an adventure, there is sure to be an itinerary that pleases everyone.
Aboard a Costa cruise even the youngest cruisers are big guests. For children and teens ages 3 to 17, Costa features an extensive complimentary youth program broken into four age groups: Mini for ages 3 to 6 years, Maxi for ages 7 to 11, Teen Junior for 12 to 14 and Teen for ages 15 to 17.
In each group games, sports, crafts, parties, dance lessons and more are offered throughout the day and late into the evening. Led by a team of qualified youth staff, several activities also are designed to be fun for the whole family, including karaoke, bingo and a talent show.
Costa’s newest ships feature more than 3,000 square feet of space reserved just for kids. One of these areas includes the Squok Lido, complete with a kiddie pool adjacent to a spacious and brightly colored playroom. For the kid — or kid at heart — Costa’s Playstation World on select ships is an innovative area that features the latest generation of Sony’s popular games. For guests wishing to play in the privacy of their stateroom, PS3 consoles also are available for on-demand rental.
In addition to fun and games, kids can indulge in a special menu served at every meal with favorites like spaghetti, pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, grilled cheese and ice cream. Costa also offers a Boys & Girls beverage card for 10 nonalcoholic drinks, so kids can have juice and carbonated beverages at any time during their cruise.
