Norwegian Cruise Line is cancelling Norwegian Jade’s scheduled stops in Egypt on its 10- and 11-day cruises from Nov. 21 to April 17 after getting feedback from guests about unrest there. The 10-day cruises instead will call in Istanbul and Naples, while the 11-day cruises will visit Crete and Naples. However, calls to Port Said and Alexandria, Egypt, will remain on the cruises departing Oct. 20, Oct. 31 and Nov. 10.

Several other cruise lines have dropped port calls in Egypt and Tunisia since Sept. 11, when a U.S. consulate in Libya was attacked by an armed group.

Security of guests, crew and ships is always a high priority.  The situation in the Middle East facilitated the company's decision to pull Egyptian ports from Jade's itineraries.

The Oct. 20 and Nov. 10 departures are 11-day cruises that visit both Port Said and Alexandria, while the 10-day Oct. 31 is scheduled to visit Alexandria. Other cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean International and Holland America Line are avoiding Middle East Unrest by adjusting itineraries.
