Princess Cruises' blog, "Inspired to Cruise: A Year of Reasons to Get Away From the Everyday" has chronicled an additional five reasons to cruise, presenting a new selection of heartwarming and inspiring passenger stories about the many things that can motivate travelers to choose a vacation at sea.
The most recent stories are from cruisers who have granted a fellow Vietnam veteran's last wish, got to know a recently discovered birth family, reconnected with a distant father and even saved a marriage. The blog, found at http://inspiredtocruise.com, illustrates some of the myriad reasons people take cruise vacations.
Each week during 2012 the blog explores the celebrations, accomplishments, milestones and other inspired reasons to cruise, each told by a different passenger. This diverse group of contributors – from long-time cruisers to those who set sail for the first time – will share a total of 52 stories.
The latest reasons to cruise are:
Story #45: To Grant a Veteran's Last Wish – John Hedley of Denver, North Carolina, shares a special Veterans Day story about how he traveled to Alaska with one of his former comrades-in-arms on a final cruise before his friend succumbed to cancer.
Story #44: To Bond with My Birth Family – Bob Taylor of Ashland, Ohio, shares how he found a cruise was a great way to bond with his birth family and how he got to know the sisters he'd only recently met by spending time together on a Caribbean cruise.
Story #43: To Reconnect with My Father – Naomi Cornelius of Dallas, Texas, shares how after a lifetime of distance from her father, she watched him spring back to life on a Panama Canal cruise where they reconnected their relationship.
Story #42: To Save My Marriage – Jessie Work of Waterbury, Connecticut, shares how she and her husband used their time at sea to revive their floundering marriage by reconnecting with each other and falling in love again.
Story #41: To Connect with Family – Sheryl Tarkoff of Chicago, Illinois, shares how she connected with nephews, cousins, siblings and her children during her cruise up the Eastern Seaboard.
Also featured on the blog are regular "Escape Inspiration" videos. Each 30-second favorite moment at sea is introduced by a Princess crew member who describes why the scene is meaningful to them.
