The first cruise ship has been spotted in Bar Harbor, officially launching the tourism season.

This is the first time Bar Harbor has had a cruise ship arrive in April. The ships normally start showing up in the month of May.

Studies show that cruise ship passengers spend money when they visit port towns.

Bar Harbor will be visited 118 times by cruise ships this year. The next ship is scheduled to arrive May 13th.
