They say a way to a man’s heart is though his stomach. Well, apparently that’s the way to travel too! And the cruise lines have made note. Away are the typical cruise-ship buffets. Today you can find celebrity chef crafted menus, unique dining rooms and exotic ingredients that make foodies go wild.

But not all foods are the same. And it shouldn’t since little Tommy may squeal at the sight of Double Duck Consommé but spend all his time at Johnny Rockets with a chocolate milkshake in hand.

Although dining varies by cruise lines and by ship themselves, the Oasis Class of ships by Royal Caribbean International is a foodies wonderland.

Outside from the usual quick snacks throughout the ships and multi-course meals in the Main Dining Room, there’s a host of specialty dining venues to satisfy any appetite. Some of my favorites:

Samba Grill- a Brazilian-style steakhouse. Need I say more?

Rita’s Cantina Mexican Fare –with live guitar performance and dancing. Arriba!

150 Central Park- a trendy upscale dining experience for when you want to leave the kids behind

The Cupcake Cupboard- who doesn’t like a sweet sprinkle throughout their cruise?

And now, with our summer special, you can sail on one of their ships and receive complimentary dinner for two in one of the specialty restaurants. The restaurants vary so let me know what you are interested in. The offer ends August 7, 2011.
